EPF Benelux
EPF Benelux consists of the physics shows in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg and is coordinated by Jelmer Renema and Kees Herbschleb. Current EPF members in the EPF Benelux region are:
Science on Tour aims to confront people with phenomena which are easily explainably by applying physical principles. With this they hope to have a positive effect on the interest in physics of the young public. Futhermore, they aim to show adults – mainly teachers and parents – that science is fascinating and useful.
Stichting Rino (Rino foundation)
Rino is an initiative of physics students at Leiden University. The students travel all around the Netherlands to visit high schools, performing physics shows using liquid nitrogen. Their show is called Freezing Physics.
Stichting Techniekpromotie thinks it is important that children become aware of the technology in their own world and the engineering that is part of it. Only then the choice for technology and engineering can get a fair chance in their lives.
Stichting Techniekpromotie therefore aims to enthuse children, aging 4 to 15 years, for technology and engineering. This is done through activities that don’t only show experiments, but dare them to participate and make them think about technological solutions for daily problems.
The activities range from science shows about different engineering subjects to workshops and the FIRST LEGO League.
The Fusion Road Show is an interactive show with live demonstrations about nuclear fusion as a future energy source and about the disadvantages of our current form of energy production.
Mobile Practicals (Mobiele Practica)
The Mobile Practical consists of a 2 hour (100 minutes) practical for highschool classes, performed by 2 university students at a school. The target audience is 16-17 year olds. Their program encompasses biology and economics
The lecture service for physics designs, builds and presents experiments. This is primarily meant for lecture demonstrations at the university, but experiments are also performed for a general audience.
The region Benelux has its own mailing list.
