EPF Scandinavia

EPF Scandinavia covers Northern Europe and is coordinated by Celia Haldan Voetmann. There are several groups involved already, and most of them will be represented at the Leiden Workshop.

Groups from Denmark:

Aarhus Physics Show (University of Aarhus)

The Aarhus Physics Show was formed in 1998 by Klaus Seiersen (former EPF project assistant) and Kristian Mølhave (who later invented the DTU Scienceshow). We travel to highschools and oldest elementary schoolclasses in Denmark giving a show of about 90 minutes covering various topics – among them electromagnetism, sound, pressure, liquid nitrogen eksperiments etc. As of this date there are tvelwe active show physicists and we do shows a couple of times every week. (author: Celia)

Odense Physics Show (University of Southern Denmark)

DTU Scienceshow (Danish Technological University)

Science is both instructive and entertaining. This we show in the DTU ScienceShow, where different kind of funny experiments and scientific explanations are shown.
The DTU ScienceShow has existed since 2001. The people behind are students from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), who show science in an exciting and instructive way. Our show is a mixture of both physics and chemistry. The show turn to preschool and high school students. Our purpose is to give students an understanding in what science really is about and make up the old prejudice about science. In our shows we demonstrate that science isn’t boring, but actually pretty funny and exciting. (authors: Line og Louise)

Circus Naturally (University of Copenhagen)

Circus Naturally has existed since 2000, where a large circus tent where put up in front of the University of Copenhagen. More than 200 school classes visited the tent within 1 week.
Nowadays, Circus Naturally, visit school classes instead. Circus Naturally is a co-operation between physics, chemistry, biology, geography, bio-chemistry and geology. (author Morten)

Fusion and Plasma Roadshow (Risoe National Laboratory) is the newest member.

Aalborg Physics Show (University of Aalborg) was formed in 2005 shortly after the first EPF-workshop in Aarhus.

Groups from Sweden:

Umeå PhysicsShow (University of Umeå) The man behind this activity is called Krister Wiklund.

Jonas Persson – a one man show about optics.
