Chain experiment is a sequence of experiments prepared in a way that each experiment triggers the next one. It is similar to toppling the rows of dominoes. All one should do is to trigger the first one and after that everything goes its own way. In construction of dynamic devices it is important that each contraption is an independent unit for itself, but in the same time also a part of the whole chain experiment. The contraptions are built so that they demonstrate various interesting physical phenomena.
Fizika Expres (Physics Express)
Fizika Ekspres is a student project started in 2005, with a desire to destigmatize physics in the eyes of the primary and high school students. Our experiments include liquid nitrogen, Teslas inductor, Rubens tube, microwave oven, magnets, electromagnetic levitator and a vacuum pump.
In the three years we’ve been active we have visited 38 schools, i.e. over 1900 students, and participated in various other activities like celebration of the World Year of Physics in 2005., Teslas year in 2006., summer school in Visnjan, University fairs as a presentation of the Physics department and others. Our plan for the next year is to visits to another 20 schools, i.e. 1000 students.
So far Fizika Ekspres has received nothing but words of praise from the students, their teachers and everyone who have seen our show. We hope to successfully continue the project with even better results and with deeper impact to the general public.
Novi Sad physics show
Newly started group at the University of Novi Sad. Are currently working with the Rubens flame tube and some experiments with high voltage (Walton-Cockroft and Marx generators).
